ZeldHack tileset for NetHack

This NetHack tileset lets you play using graphics inspired by classic NES games like The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Quest, Kid Icarus, Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros., and many more.

It took me several months of research, pixel-hunting, and archiving to bring it all together!

Can you recognize all the games featured in the tileset?

The standard tiles are 16×16 pixels by default, but you can now dowload 32×32 or 64×64.

I have also added a KRC text file, which you can copy to replace some of the options in your own game KRC (don't forget to make a backup). This “ZeldHack” file is ready to use with some options already programmed and is configured for the 32x32 tileset.

BREAKING NEWS! 2026-01-09

In addition to the tilesets available for download, a ready-to-play version of ZeldHack, requiring no configuration, will soon be available on my page. Simply download the game and launch it for everything to work, without having to do anything else! ZeldHack “stand alone” will include a sound pack that will enhance your actions in the game with multiple sound effects and noises! Stay tuned, the ZeldHack pack is coming soon!
